Thanks to my Christian Hippie parentals (who literally spent the 1st decade of their young marriage traveling around in a van and singing on sidewalks and in parking lots all over America), I grew up with at least an appreciation, if not love, for most musical genres... especially the music of "the greats" ~ James Taylor, Carol King, Johnny&June, Beatles, Eagles, Chicago, Creedence, Bread, Dolly & etc.... The music I have always loved the MOST, no matter the stylistic genre, is the music of those who have written the lyrics themselves... singer~songwriters!
There are some artists who can do no wrong in my ears while others might only be one hit wonders in my playlists.
On Repeat, right now... Patty Griffin, Needtobreathe, Avett Bros, Mumford, Old Crow Medicine Show, JohnnySwim, Civil Wars (RIP), Sara Watkins, The Oh Hellos, The Lumineers, Amos Lee, Ryan Adams, Ben Folds, Adelle, Missy Higgins, Brooke Fraser, Mindy Smith, Allison Kraus, Hillsong, Bethel, All Sons & Daughters, Matt Maher, Rend Collective and John Mayer's last 2 albums along with random fave country, pop & rock classics from past decades all have permanent spots in my music mixes! And my lifelong forever fave is Steven Curtis Chapman!
